Our Apple Planning to Remove 3.5mm Headphone Jack From iPhone 7 To Make It Thinner

SP's: According to the media reports, Apple is planning to remove the familiar 3.5mm headphone jack from the next iPhone i.e. iPhone 7. This change is said to achieve more than 1mm reduction in thickness compared to iPhone 6s. Read more to know about its replacement and the risks involved.

The smartphone makers know that users always fantasize about buying the thinnest phone in the market. This inspires them to come up with new solutions and spend more on R&D to make their next flagship even thinner. When we talk about this fantasy of users and technology companies, Apple is no exception.
In the past, we’ve encountered rumors regarding new headphone jack design being patented by Apple. According to a new report from Japanese blog Macotakara, Apple is planning to remove the familiar 3.5mm headphone jack from the next iPhone i.e. iPhone 7.

The blog states that 3.5mm headphone jacks are world standard and it can hardly be thinner – so Apple is planning to remove it.

The design for the next iPhone is so thin that Apple is planning to bring the Lightning connector along with an inbuilt digital-to-analog converter into this connector. Due to this change, the third-party headphone makers would need to bundle the Lighting adaptors with their 3.5mm headphones (or bring Lighting port models only).

This change is said to achieve more than 1mm reduction in thickness compared to the iPhone 6s.

As for now, this is a rumor.

Talking about the arguments against it, it could be really irritating for some users. The 3.5mm headphone jack is an industry standard and one of the most widely accepted technology standard in the world.

Let’s suppose you’ve spent tons of money on a premium headphone and you need an adapter to use it. Let’s suppose you’ve spent tons of money on a premium headphone and you need an adapter to use it.

Really frustrating!

In the past, when original iPhone was launched with recessed 3.5mm jack, many headphones didn’t fit and Apple was on the receiving end. Wisely, Apple stepped back.

Now Apple is the biggest brand on Earth and that has changed many technology standards. Ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack in iPhone 7 could be a big gamble, but Apple appears prepared to take this risk (and tons of profit).

Find Out Which Apple Watch Is Best for You with the Apple Store App

Apple announced a bunch of details about its new Apple Watch this week, but if you're interested in getting one for yourself, it's kind of a confusing mess to figure out which one to get. The Apple Store app has a handy feature that makes at least one part of that process a little easier.

If you open up the Apple Store app, you can take a look at the two different watch sizes in actual size so you can decide which size is best for your wrist. If you need a little more help still, MacWorld has a guide that breaks down the absurd number of options you have to choose from as well. Apple's also put together a sizing guide for the different strap sizes. You have until the April 10th preorder date to make your decision (or talk yourself out of buying one), but you can get a head start now if you're into it.

Tether Locks and Unlocks Your Mac Automatically with Your iPhone

iPhone/Mac: We've seen apps that unlock and lock your Mac from your iPhone before, but Tether is not only one of the easiest to use tools out there, it's also free.

After you download and install the Mac app and iOS iPhone app, you'll pair together your phone and computer using Bluetooth. When you walk a certain distance away from your computer, Tether will automatically lock it. When you return, it'll unlock. There are certainly other similar apps out there, but Tether was a little more reliable and easier to use for us.
